RIS LSV 2011-2020

The Regional Innovation Strategy for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship 2011-2020 (RIS LSV) was adopted by Resolution No. 1149/IV/11 of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Board on 30 August 2011. The RIS LSV was a tool for the implementation of innovation policy of the Self-Government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, focusing on objectives related to promoting and supporting the development, diffusion and efficient use of new products, services and processes, both within organisations (whether public or private entities) and from a market perspective.

The mission of the RIS LSV was defined as: Lower Silesia - a place of inspiration for innovative development.

Strategic objectives:

  1. Strengthening innovative skills and attitudes, key to the knowledge economy.
  2. Increasing the chances of success for innovative business projects.
  3. Increase in innovation potential of Lower Silesian research units.
  4. Developing cooperation in the economy in the area of innovation.

‘Regional Innovation Strategy for Lower Silesia 2011-2020’ together with the Executive Plan 2012 - 2014 is an update of the strategic document entitled ‘Lower Silesian Innovation Strategy’ adopted by Resolution No. XXXIX/509/2005 of the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly of 25 April 2005.

Commissioned by the Marshal Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the process of updating the Lower Silesian Innovation Strategy consisting in the development of the above-mentioned documents was carried out by a consortium composed of: Wrocław University of Science and Technology-Wrocław Centre for Technology Transfer and Zachodniopomorska Grupa Doradcza sp. z o.o. from Szczecin. The documents were drafted on the basis of the work of the Executive Team, three Working Groups and the Steering Committee, which in total comprised approximately 60 regional experts representing the most important stakeholders in the Lower Silesian innovation system, such as: entrepreneurs, local government units, research and development units, universities, business environment institutions, representatives of economic networks and others.
